Crock Pot Chicken Cacciatore

In this recipe, you can add whole, boneless breasts or go ahead and cut up the chicken.  If you add whole breasts, just cut them up with a fork and mix back in before serving.

Crock Pot Chicken Cacciatore

  • 1 lg. onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 lbs. cut up chicken or 2-3 chicken boneless breasts
  • 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
  • 4 oz. sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 to 2 cloves garlic, minced or 1 tsp minced garlic in a jar
  • 1 to 2 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 cup chopped  celery
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or water
  • Place onions and celery in bottom of crock pot.  Next place in chicken.  Mix remaining ingredients together and pour over chicken. Cook low 7-8 hours or high 4 hours. Remove bay leaf and serve over spaghetti noodles.
